William Petersen has become to be known as the face of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Gil Grissom. He was born William Louis Petersen on February 21, 1953 in Evanston, Illinois. Petersen was born into a large family, six children in total, he is the youngest. His parents were part of the furniture industry, his father is Danish American and his mother is German American. He graduated high school in 1972 and received a football scholarship to Idaho State University. However, while going to college he met his wife Joanne and decided to leave school in 1974 after taking an acting class.

Gary Sinise is most recently known for his role on CSI: New York. However, Gary Sinise has been around far longer than that. Born Gary Alan Sinise on March 17, 1955 in Blue Island, Illinois. Both an actor and a film director he has won an Emmy and Golden Glob Award, he was also nominated for a Palme d'Or and an Academy Award. Born to parents Millie and Robert Sinise, his father also a film director. He attended Illinois State University, by 1974 Sinise and his friends Terry Kinney and Jeff Perry created the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Other actors that have been part of the group are Kevin Anderson, Joan Allen, Gary Cole, Glenne Headly, close friend John Malkovich, Jim True-Frost, and even Laurie Metcalf.
